Juan Esquen
Founder and CEO
Juan Esquen is the Founder and CEO of Benefits Trust Insurance Advisors, bringing more than 40 years of experience in the insurance and employee benefits industry across the U.S. and Latin America. He graduated from Adv Peru Business School in Marketing and Professional and International Sales and began his career in 1979 in Lima, Peru, before relocating to Miami in 1982.
Throughout his career, Juan has held leadership and advisory roles in sales, commercial insurance, employee benefits, life, health, and group insurance. He worked with MetLife, Colonial Life, and national enrollment firms, earning multiple performance awards and leadership recognitions, including eight Leaders Conferences as a top producer.
In 2020, Juan founded Benefits Trust Insurance Advisors with a mission to provide trusted, personalized insurance solutions for individuals, families, and businesses. Known for his integrity, leadership, and client-first approach, Juan is committed to helping clients protect what matters most while building lasting relationships based on trust.
Juan Pablo Contesse
Executive Vice President
Juan brings decades of experience in marketing, business strategy, and client advisory to Benefits Trust. Originally from Chile, he earned his degree in Business Administration with a major in Marketing from the University of Chile.
Throughout his career, Juan has held leadership roles with renowned organizations including Leo Burnett in Chile and the United States, where he helped develop growth strategies for major global brands like Procter&Gamble, McDonald’s, General Motors, Kellog’s, United Airlines, and others.
Over the years, Juan has built a reputation for helping business owners identify opportunities, solve challenges, and grow with confidence.
In 2016, he joined Colonial Life Insurance advising business owners, human resources executives and employees on their best solutions to protect what matters most.
As Executive Vice President at Benefits Trust, Juan is dedicated to helping businesses protect their people, strengthen their future, and achieve lasting success.
Nicole Esquen
Partner and Vice President of Human Capital
Nicole Esquen brings a strong background in counseling, client advocacy, and relationship-building to the team of Benefits Trust. She studied Psychology at Florida National University and earned her Master in Trauma from Albizu University.
With extensive experience supporting individuals and groups through complex personal and professional challenges, Nicole has developed exceptional skills in communication, problem-solving, and client care. Her expertise in trauma-informed support, behavioral health, and co-occurring conditions gives her unique insight into the growing importance of mental health and employee wellness in today’s workplace.
Nicole is passionate about helping small businesses in Miami create healthier, more resilient workplaces through thoughtful insurance and employee benefits solutions.
Angelica Maselli
Partner and Chief Financial Officer
Angelica has a degree in Accounting from Florida International University. She oversees accounting, financial record-keeping, and operational support for the agency. With extensive experience in small business ownership, financial management, and customer service, she has strong expertise in bookkeeping, financial analysis, and operations. Fluent in English and Spanish, Angelica plays a key role in ensuring operational efficiency and delivering a seamless client experience.
Sebastian Maselli
Partner and Vice President of Technology and Communications
Sebastian Maselli graduated in 2013 from San Marcos University in California. He brings 15+ years of expertise in video production and graphic design, helping businesses build trust and grow through strategic visual communication. He worked with clients such as Fox and Channel 7.
At the agency, he leads creative initiatives that strengthen brand presence, enhance social media engagement, and support client acquisition through impactful content and design.
His work helps transform complex insurance solutions into clear, professional, and engaging messaging that resonates with small business owners. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Sebastian combines creativity, discipline, and strategic thinking to help drive the agency’s growth.
Alexandre Esquen
Chief Technology Officer
Alexandre is a native of Brazil graduated from the Universidad Alves Faria in Software Engineering with a degree in Computer Network.
As Chief Technology Officer, he is dedicated to using technology to make doing business with Benefits Trust easier, faster, and more convenient. From improving communication and streamlining processes to enhancing security and developing innovative digital solutions, his focus is on creating a better experience for every client.
By combining modern technology with personalized service, he helps Benefits Trust provide responsive support, reliable guidance, and simple access to benefits information that businesses and their employees, families and individuals deserve. His goal is to ensure that technology strengthens relationships, builds trust, and helps clients confidently choose the best possible insurance solutions.
