Juan Esquen

Juan began his career in 1979 as a Sales Representative for Seguros Corp in Lima, Peru. He then relocated to Miami, FL in 1982 and spent a few years working in the restaurant business. In 1985 he was ready to return to the insurance industry and worked as a Marketing Representative for P&C Agency. Juan joined MetLife in 1993 and was responsible for new sales growth in both Life and Health individual and Group markets; achieving several sales performance awards such as: Sales Career Institute I, II, and III. Two years later, Juan left MetLife to work as an Individual Broker in the Individual and Group Life and Health Market in Miami. In 1998, Juan began to combine his Broker work in Miami with traveling as a National Benefit Counselor; which led up to joining Colonial Life as a full time Lead Benefit Counselor in 2006. Within a few years, he was promoted to an Assistant District Manager position and earned the right to attend eight Leaders Conferences; which recognized his achievements as a top producer, surpassing his annual goals. Soon after, he was promoted to a District Manager.

Juan combined the management of his Colonial Life District and joined a National Enrollment firm in 2018 as a Market Manager for Florida. He was responsible for maintaining and serving existing Brokers and Commercial account relationships as well as developing new ones. Additionally, Juan uses his many years of Benefit Counseling experience to develop and manage the Florida Benefit Counselor Team. In 2020, Juan decided to put all his years of experience into creating his own Insurance Brokerage Benefits Trust. His goal is to serve as an Insurance Advisor for the National and International Insurance markets.

Juan is a graduate of ADV Business and Marketing Institute in Lima Peru with a Degree in Marketing, Leadership and Professional Sales. He has been on the Board of Directors for the Latin American Business Association since 2013 and has been involved with various community development programs. In 2018, Juan was given the “Orgullo Peruano Award” for his professional excellence in Lima Peru. Most recently in 2022, he joined the Calle 8 Chamber of Commerce. Juan is also an active member of the Catholic Church; he enjoys spending time with family and friends, cooking, traveling, and helping his community.
